Maximizing Production Chains: Advanced Resource Strategies for Farming Enthusiasts

Published by the Township Review Hub Editorial Team · ~6 min read · Reviewed for Australia

The art of the production chain

Production chains are the beating heart of every serious farming sim. Mastering them is what separates relaxed players from veteran town mayors. In Township, every recipe sits in a layered dependency tree, and a small optimisation early in the chain can free up enormous capacity downstream.

Plan your inventory before you plant

The first rule of advanced play is to plan inventory before you plant. Always look at what your helicopter orders, train deliveries and regatta tasks demand for the next 48 hours, then plant crops and queue factories that feed those demands first.

Layered upgrades for compounding returns

Upgrade storage capacity early and often. Increased storage allows you to keep more raw materials on hand, which in turn allows longer factory queues and more efficient batch processing. The compounding effect over weeks of play is enormous.

Sustain your motivation

Production chains should always feel rewarding, not stressful. Set yourself a comfortable daily routine — perhaps 10 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening — and trust the game's generous pacing to do the rest.
